Annotation: the article deals with the organization of methodical training for a future mathematics teacher on the basis of a competence approach to teaching; the essence of the concept of "professional and methodological competence" of a future teacher of mathematics has been revealed, the vocational and methodological competences included in its composition have been determined, one of the approaches to determining the levels of its formation has been considered.
