Psychological Factors of Body Dissatisfaction for Students of Beauty School
Abstract
Key words: body image, body dissatisfaction, eating disorders, adolescence.
Annotation:The article contains the results of the research of a study of body image in adolescent girls undergoing training in beauty school. The findings suggest the presence of the severe body dissatisfaction and tendency to develop eating disorders within research sample. Possible family factors that affect the negative body image, such as the criticism and control of appearance by the mothers, the exaggerated value of beauty within the family, violation of boundaries in the relationship between mother and daughter are discussed.
