Annotation: the article deals with the problem of selection of teaching methods in the preparation of studies in fine arts at school. Specific examples show how the right choice of educational methods affect the effectiveness of teaching students the basics of art. The pedagogical conditions and methodological principles designed to enhance students' interest in employment on the fine arts.
